Important compounded medication disclosure

  • The semaglutide dispensed through our program is a compounded preparation, prepared and dispensed by an independently licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy (503A) or FDA-registered outsourcing facility (503B).
  • Compounded semaglutide is not an FDA-approved finished drug product. Compounded medications are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or manufacturing quality in the same manner as approved drugs.
  • Compounded semaglutide is not the same medication as Ozempic® or Wegovy® (Novo Nordisk). It is a separate preparation and is not interchangeable with the branded, FDA-approved product.
  • The FDA has issued public statements regarding the risks of compounded GLP-1 products. Read the FDA statement.

What it is

A GLP-1 receptor agonist that rewires appetite.

Semaglutide mimics the GLP-1 hormone your body naturally produces after eating. It signals satiety to the brain, slows gastric emptying, and helps regulate blood sugar — creating a physiological environment where fat loss becomes sustainable rather than a constant battle of willpower.

At Body Tonic RX, we do not hand out prescriptions and walk away. Every semaglutide patient receives a comprehensive intake, baseline labs, body composition analysis, and monthly provider check-ins to ensure the medication is working safely and effectively for your unique metabolism.

FAQ

Common questions.

How quickly does semaglutide work for weight loss?

Most patients notice reduced appetite within the first 1–2 weeks. Visible fat loss and body composition changes typically emerge over 8–12 weeks as the dose is gradually titrated.

Is semaglutide safe?

Branded semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) is FDA-approved and has been extensively studied. The medication dispensed through our program is a compounded preparation that is not FDA-approved as a finished drug product and is not the same as the branded medication. Every patient is medically screened, monitored monthly, and supported by licensed clinicians who adjust the protocol based on your labs, symptoms, and tolerance.

Do I have to come to the clinic every week?

No. After your initial consultation and training, most patients self-administer weekly injections at home. Monthly in-clinic or virtual check-ins keep your protocol on track.

What makes your program different from online options?

We pair medication with real data — body composition analysis, metabolic labs, and nutrition coaching — supervised by nurse practitioners who adjust your plan based on results, not guesswork.
