Step by step
Your injection, six simple steps.
Step 01
Wash & prep
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water. Lay out your supplies on a clean surface: vial, syringe, alcohol pads, sharps container.
Step 02
Inspect the vial
Check the medication for cloudiness, particles, or discoloration. Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol pad and let it air dry.
Step 03
Draw your dose
Pull the plunger to draw air equal to your prescribed dose, insert into the vial, push air in, then invert and draw the exact dose. Tap to release bubbles.
Step 04
Pick your site
Subcutaneous injections go into the fatty tissue of the abdomen (2 inches from the navel) or upper outer thigh. Rotate sites with each dose.
Step 05
Clean & inject
Wipe the site with alcohol and let it dry. Pinch the skin, insert the needle at 90° in one quick motion, and slowly press the plunger.
Step 06
Dispose safely
Withdraw the needle, apply gentle pressure with gauze, and drop the syringe directly into your sharps container. Never recap needles.
Safety First
Before you begin.
- Only use medication and supplies dispensed by your Body Tonic RX provider.
- Store medication per the label — most peptides and GLP-1s require refrigeration.
- Never share needles, syringes, or vials, even with family members.
- Stop and contact us immediately if you notice severe redness, swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing.

FAQ
Common questions.
What if I see a small amount of blood?
A drop or two is normal. Apply gentle pressure with clean gauze for 30 seconds. If bleeding continues or you feel lightheaded, call our office.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe it as a quick pinch. Using a fresh needle, letting the alcohol fully dry, and keeping the medication at room temperature for a few minutes can reduce discomfort.
What if I miss a dose?
Refer to your specific protocol — for weekly GLP-1s you can typically take the dose within 4 days. For daily peptides, skip the missed dose and resume your normal schedule. Never double up.
Where do I get a sharps container?
We provide one with your starter kit. Replacements are available at any pharmacy, or you can use a heavy-duty plastic container with a screw-on lid in a pinch.
