"Permanent makeup" covers a lot more than most people think. Clients come to our Bee Cave studio for brows, lips, and eyeliner, but also for corrections of work done elsewhere, scar camouflage, and areola reconstruction after surgery. This guide walks through each type we offer, so you can figure out which one fits what you are looking for.

Every permanent makeup service at Body Tonic RX is performed by Agata Soldato, our founder and master artist. Agata has 12 years of experience and more than 10,000 treatments behind her, including advanced corrective work and medical tattooing. All of these services are available at our Bee Cave location only.

Nano Brows

Nano brows are our most requested permanent makeup service. Using a machine with a single fine needle, Agata implants pigment in hair-like strokes that mimic real brow hairs. Depending on your brows and your skin, she may use hair strokes, a soft powder finish, an ombre gradient, or a combination.

The goal is shape, density, and symmetry, so your brows are done before you even start your day. Nano strokes heal more crisply than traditional microblading and work well on more skin types, including oily skin.

Best for: sparse or over-plucked brows, uneven shape, gaps from scarring, or anyone tired of filling in their brows every morning.

Lip Blushing

Lip blushing adds a soft wash of custom-blended color and definition to your lips. It is not the harsh lip liner of the 90s. The pigment is sheered out across the lips for a natural tint that makes them look a little fuller and more even, like your lips on a good day, every day.

Best for: pale or uneven lip color, a faded vermilion border, or anyone who wants a natural tint without daily lipstick.

Permanent Eyeliner

Permanent eyeliner is implanted along the lash line for smudge-free, waterproof definition that never washes off. It can be as subtle as a lash-line enhancement, which darkens the base of the lashes so they look thicker, or a more defined liner look.

Best for: anyone who wears eyeliner daily, has shaky hands or watery eyes, or wants their eyes defined without makeup.

PMU Corrections

A large part of Agata's work is correcting permanent makeup done elsewhere. Challenging shapes, migrated or discolored pigment, asymmetry, and results that simply never looked right can often be reshaped, color-corrected, or camouflaged. Correction takes an experienced eye and honest planning, and sometimes more than one session.

Best for: anyone unhappy with previous permanent makeup, whether the shape, the color, or the symmetry is off.

Laser Removal of Old Permanent Makeup

Some corrections need a clean slate first. Professional laser removal fades or fully clears unwanted permanent makeup and body art, with a treatment plan sized to your ink, colors, and skin. Once the old pigment is light enough, new work can be done on top with a much better result.

Best for: heavily saturated or poorly placed old work that cannot be corrected directly.

Areola Tattooing

Areola tattooing is medical tattooing that recreates the areola and nipple after breast surgery or trauma. Using custom pigment and 3D shading, Agata creates a natural, symmetrical, long-lasting result. For many clients this is the final step in feeling whole again after reconstruction.

Best for: anyone who has had a mastectomy, breast reconstruction, or other breast surgery.

Scar, Stretch Mark, and Tummy Tuck Camouflage

Camouflage tattooing places custom-blended pigment into scars or stretch marks to bring them closer to your surrounding skin tone, so they blend in instead of standing out. We treat surgical scars, tummy tuck and C-section scars, and mature white or silver stretch marks across the abdomen, hips, thighs, and breasts.

This work is best suited to fully healed, mature scars, and results depend on your skin and the scar itself. A consultation is the right first step.

Best for: healed surgical scars and mature stretch marks that bother you in swimwear or fitted clothing.

Cleft Lip Reconstruction

Agata also performs paramedical tattooing for cleft lip reconstruction, using pigment to restore symmetry and natural color to the lip after surgical repair. It is detailed, careful work, and one of the most meaningful services we offer.

What to expect

  • A consultation first. We look at your skin, your goals, and any previous work, and map out a plan before anything else happens.
  • Numbing. A topical anesthetic is applied before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable.
  • Two sessions for most services. The initial appointment plus a perfecting session once the skin has healed.
  • Healing time. Expect about a week of visible healing, with the true color settling in over four to six weeks.

The bottom line

Permanent makeup should look like you, only more rested and more polished. Whether you want effortless brows, a natural lip tint, or help correcting work you regret, the right plan starts with a conversation.

Frequently asked questions

How long does permanent makeup last?

Most cosmetic permanent makeup lasts one to three years before it softens and fades, depending on the area, your skin type, sun exposure, and skincare. Brows and eyeliner often hold longer than lip color. A touch-up keeps the color fresh.

Does permanent makeup hurt?

Most clients describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure, and most people tolerate it well.

What is the difference between nano brows and microblading?

Microblading uses a manual blade to cut pigment into the skin. Nano brows use a machine with a single fine needle to implant pigment in hair-like strokes. Nano strokes tend to heal more crisply, work on more skin types including oily skin, and are gentler on the skin over repeat sessions.

Can you fix permanent makeup I had done somewhere else?

Often, yes. Corrective work is a large part of what we do, including reshaping, color correction, and camouflaging unwanted pigment. Some cases need laser removal sessions first to lighten the old work before it can be corrected. A consultation tells us which path fits your situation.

Where are you located?

All permanent makeup and medical tattooing is performed at our Bee Cave studio, serving clients across Austin, Westlake Hills, Lakeway, and the Hill Country.
