Kybella has been around now for a few years. We actually started offering it two years ago this month. Kybella is the only injectable treatment for permanently dissolving fat under the chin.
In general in the cosmetics industry, Kybella hasn’t been as popular as I had anticipated. I think this is for a few reasons: (1) People generally want to treat their face before they invest money on any other body areas, (2) Kybella results are not instantaneous (you will need about 3 treatments 6-8 weeks apart), and (3) the treatment in its entirety can be pricey.
Despite the reasons why there aren’t hordes of people flocking in to med spas for Kybella, the treatment is nonetheless quite effective. And thanks to some rebates, we currently have an amazing special, which takes one of those items off the “cons” list. If you’ve ever thought you want this treatment, definitely take advantage now. The package is: 6 vials of Kybella (approximately a full treatment series) for $2400, plus you get entered to win 2 Voluma this month. Voluma is used for cheek enhancement. We will have three winners this month, so you’ll definitely have a good chance at redefining your jaw AND rejuvenating your facial curves, just in time for the holidays.
Here are some quick facts about Kybella and an injection video, here at Body Tonic, with Gina Jones.
Quick Facts On Kybella:
Kybella, is a patented, FDA-approved, synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally occurs in our bodies, and helps metabolize fat. Because it is a form of a naturally occurring substance, it is perfectly safe. It is made by Allergan, the makers of Botox.
How Does It Work?
It disrupts the fat cell membrane, causing lysis, which means it destroys the cell membrane. After that, the fat cell releases its fatty contents and the body metabolizes that fat.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
Generally three. At each session you will need less and less product injected, as the fat will be diminishing.
Is It Permanent?
Research has shown that even if weight is gained in other areas of the body, that fat is not re-gained in the areas where Kybella has been injected.
